First, I like to take on the issue of cessationalism. Cessationalism says that all of the sign gifts have stopped and it is also designed to protect Christians from false prophecy. Now, Ephesians 2:20 says that the church was built on the foundation of apostles and prophets. It does not say that the sign gifts have ceased. It also says that prophecies will cease. But not yet!
I believe that there can be more gifts assigned to a person than those listed in the Bible. People who are born again receive gifts. I can range from one to many. Now, just because a person is gifted, it does not mean that that person can claim authority. All authetic Christians are on the same level. In a church or ekklesia setting, all must be allowed to use their gifts and not remain limp, so that all can benefit from the body. You can never expect who God may use, so give others a chance to participate and don't let one person dominate.
